Cornwall Hookups: Cornwall Women Want to Meet

West of the Tamar and up for no-strings fun? This is where it starts.

Casual sex west of the Tamar

Cross the Tamar and you're in Kernow. The river draws almost the whole border with Devon, and beyond it lies the southernmost county in the UK, the far tip of the south-west peninsula, with the Atlantic to the north and west and the English Channel to the south. Around 586,000 people live across its 1,375 square miles, most of it countryside.

No single city pulls the whole county in. Truro, the only city, and St Austell sit in the middle; Camborne and Redruth run into each other in the south-west; Saltash holds the far south-east corner. Penzance and Falmouth face the Channel, and Newquay, the surf town, faces the Atlantic. Down the middle runs a spine of high, exposed moor, from Bodmin Moor west to the Land's End peninsula.

That shape matters more than the size when you're arranging to meet. Saltash and Penzance sit at opposite ends of a long county, so find out early which end your match calls home. Bodmin, about four miles from the county's centre point, makes a natural halfway mark.

Who's on the site in Cornwall

Members have signed up from Newquay, Truro, Falmouth and Penryn, so both coasts have people on the site. The age bars below take the wider view and cover our members across England as a whole: about three in ten are 18 to 24 and as many again are 25 to 34; the 35 to 44s make up roughly a fifth, and those 45 and over a little more than that. Close to three in ten are women.

In a county this stretched, set your distance with care: too tight and you'll miss the person two towns along, too loose and you'll be chatting to someone at the far end of the peninsula. Your profile shows your nearest town, never your address, and the daily match suggestions weigh up the miles.

Surf beaches, harbour towns and the Furry Dance

Cornwall's coast does a lot of the work for a first meeting. The north side is the wild one, and its beaches carry much of the tourist trade: Newquay, known for its surfing, has Fistral, and the same coast gives you Watergate Bay, Perranporth, Porthtowan, St Agnes, St Ives, Polzeath and Bude. On the gentler south coast, Falmouth has its port and Gyllyngvase beach, and Praa Sands stretches out further south-west. A walk on the sand and a drink back in town make a first date nobody has to overthink.

Away from the beaches, Cornwall keeps its own traditions. Helston still dances the Furry Dance to its town band, and Newlyn's old art colony and St Ives have drawn painters for more than a century. The climate helps: the mildest in the UK and one of the sunniest, with frost rare by the sea. For a first meeting, choose somewhere public, like a harbour front in one of the port towns, and send a friend your plans before you set off. There's more in our hookup safety tips.

Before you drive across Cornwall for a date

Is Cornwall too spread out for hookups?

It's spread out, not empty. The towns are scattered from Saltash to Penzance with moorland between them, so most matches are a drive rather than a walk. Agree a halfway town before you meet and neither of you does all the driving.

Can I find a hookup while I'm on holiday in Cornwall?

You can. Tourism runs through the county, from the surf beaches to the harbours at St Ives and Padstow, and the site works in any browser on your phone. Set the town you're staying near as your nearest town, say on your profile how long you're around, and keep the first meeting somewhere public.
