The High Street and Market Place are the natural place to start, with the Athenaeum Centre, the Town Hall and St Lawrence Chapel as landmarks to arrange to meet at. Go in daylight or early evening, when there are people about, and you can judge the chemistry without any pressure.
If you'd rather not be seen on the High Street, cross to Westbury, under four miles north, or go over the Somerset border to Frome, about six and a half miles west. Shaftesbury, about fourteen miles south, suits a match who lives in Dorset, and Bath and Devizes are at much the same distance in other directions.
