Waltham Cross Hookups: Waltham Cross Women Want to Meet

A night together and no strings for adults in Waltham Cross, on the Hertfordshire edge of London.

Meet me at the cross: hookups in Waltham Cross

The town is named after a medieval memorial cross, and it's still standing in the middle of it.

It's one of twelve put up on a king's orders after his queen died in 1290, and one of only three left intact, the other two being in Northamptonshire villages. Nobody will send you to the wrong one, and as landmarks go it's about as central as it gets, which makes it an easy answer to "where shall we meet?"

Round it, you'll find a modest commercial centre: a pedestrianised High Street, handy when you want to talk without shouting over traffic, and an indoor shopping centre. It sits in the south-eastern corner of Hertfordshire, 12 miles north of central London, in the Borough of Broxbourne. It used to be the southern end of Cheshunt's ancient parish, and the post town still runs on into Cheshunt and a corner of Enfield.

Casting the net wider than Waltham Cross

Waltham Cross is a modest town, so the figures below cover everyone within 25 miles rather than the town alone. For every member aged 45 or over there are about six under 35, with a third of the total aged 18 to 24 and a little over a third aged 25 to 34. The 35 to 44s come to just under a fifth, and women make up a little over a third.

London starts just over the southern boundary, and the circle takes in Luton, Harlow and Watford as well, stretching to London Colney, Uxbridge, Hounslow and Bromley. A match from the capital isn't the trek it might sound.

Cheshunt, Waltham Abbey, Enfield: pick a direction

Cheshunt is the nearest neighbour, a mile to the north, close enough that the two towns share a post town. Waltham Abbey is 1.4 miles east, over the border in Essex, and Enfield is 2.9 miles south, where London begins. Whichever way the evening goes, the next town is only a few miles on.

For a first meeting, the pedestrianised High Street and the indoor shopping centre are public and easy to leave, which is just what you want. The cross works too, as long as it's daylight.
