Herefordshire Hookups: Herefordshire Women Want to Meet

No-strings fun for adults in Hereford, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye and the cider country between them.

Orchards, hills and hookups on the Welsh border

Herefordshire is properly rural: just over 191,000 people spread across 840 square miles of farms, orchards and hills.

It's fruit and cider country, the home of the Hereford cattle breed, and part of the old Welsh Marches. Hereford, the county town and its only city, sits near the middle, where the River Wye crosses the lowland. Leominster lies to the north on the Lugg, Ledbury to the east and Ross-on-Wye to the south, with Kington and Bromyard the other main towns.

It's hilly country, too. The Malvern Hills run along the Worcestershire boundary, the Wye Valley heads south into Wales, and in the west the Black Mountains climb past 700 metres on the border with Powys. The county grew by just 2% in the decade to 2021, so don't expect crowds: with this few people, the smart move is to look beyond the county line as well as inside it.

Herefordshire's members, from 18 to well past 55

Ages are more evenly spread here than across the site as a whole. In and around Herefordshire, about a quarter of our members are 18 to 24, one in five is 25 to 34 and another quarter are 35 to 44. More than a quarter are 45 or over, and roughly one in six is 55 or older, a much bigger slice of over-55s than we see nationally. About a quarter are women. Since the county itself is so thinly populated, they're scattered widely: Worcester and Tewkesbury, Bridgnorth and Stourbridge, Chepstow, Wolvesnewton and Avonmouth.

A first drink in Hereford, a walk by the Wye

For a first meeting, head for Hereford. It has the Courtyard, the city's main theatre and arts centre, Edgar Street, where Hereford FC play, and the engineering students at NMITE. Cider is part of the scenery too: the Bulmers works in the city is the largest cider factory in the world.

Out in the county, the Wye runs through both Hereford and Ross-on-Wye, which gives you riverside walks at either end, and there's no shortage of old stones for a daytime meet: Goodrich, Eastnor and Croft castles, the Brockhampton Estate and Berrington Hall. Beyond the county, Malvern in Worcestershire and Monmouth, across the Welsh border in Monmouthshire, have pages of their own. Meet somewhere public first, and if you're unsure about anyone, the safety page shows how to block or report them.

Is Herefordshire too quiet for casual sex?

It's a quiet, rural county, with about 191,000 people in all, so it pays to look over the borders too. Worcester, Tewkesbury and Bridgnorth are all places our members near Herefordshire come from, and the matches you get each day factor in how far away people are.

What's a good first date in Hereford?

Something public with an easy exit: a drink in the city centre, or a show at the Courtyard. Save the riverside walk, and whatever comes after it, for a second meeting once you both know you want it.
