Gwynedd Hookups: Gwynedd County Women Want to Meet
Casual sex and no-strings nights from the Menai Strait down to the Dyfi.
Flirt in Welsh or English across Gwynedd
Almost two in three people in Gwynedd can speak Welsh, a higher share than in any other part of Wales, so a line of it on your profile is never wasted here.
Most of the county is mountain. Snowdonia, or Eryri, runs from the north coast to the Dyfi, and its northern end, shared with Conwy, holds all 15 Welsh peaks over 3,000 feet, Yr Wyddfa the tallest of them. Bangor, a city and the largest place, and Caernarfon, where the council sits, are both on the Menai Strait; Pwllheli, Porthmadog, Barmouth and Tywyn line Cardigan Bay; Bethesda, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Bala sit inland.
About 120,000 people share 979 square miles, and the hills come between most of them. So a hookup here takes a little planning. Roads are narrow and winding, and the busy northern half of the national park clogs up when the visitors arrive. Those visitors come for the beaches and the mountains, though, which means new faces as well as traffic.
A younger crowd around Gwynedd
Our members in and around Gwynedd lean young. Seven in ten are under 35, with the 25 to 34s the largest group at about four in ten; everyone else is between 35 and 54, and nobody older shows up in the picture at the moment. A little under a quarter are women. The circle runs well past the county line, to Llandudno, Aberystwyth and Connah's Quay and over to Chester, Liverpool and Stoke, which is worth knowing when you decide how far you'll travel.

Get to your date by rail, road or strait
Down Cardigan Bay
The single-track Cambrian line follows the coast to its end at Pwllheli. Between Porthmadog and Barmouth the small stations are request stops, so let the guard know where you're getting off.
Along the Menai Strait
Bangor is on the North Wales Coast Line, with trains to Holyhead one way and to Chester the other. Over the water, Menai Bridge has a page of its own.
Up into the hills
Blaenau Ffestiniog is the last stop on the Conwy Valley Line, and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland heritage railways run from there to Caernarfon by way of Porthmadog: a day out, which suits a second date.
By car
The terrain keeps the roads slow, so give yourself time and pick a meeting point you can both reach without a rush.
However you travel, meet somewhere public first and sort your own way home. Our safety page covers blocking and reporting too.
Hooking up close to home in Gwynedd
Can I find hookups near me if I live out in the hills?
Yes, though near stretches a bit in a county of 979 square miles. Put your own town on your profile and your daily matches will weigh up distance along with age and what someone is after. Penrhyndeudraeth, Porthmadog and Dolgellau are all within 12 miles of the middle of the county.
Should I write my profile in Welsh or English?
Whichever one you flirt in. With nearly two in three people in Gwynedd able to speak Welsh, a few words of it can catch a local eye, but add some English if you'd like matches from Chester, Liverpool or Llandudno as well.
