Aberystwyth Hookups: Aberystwyth Women Want to Meet

Casual sex in Aberystwyth, from Constitution Hill to the harbour

The seafront does the talking here. The Promenade runs from Constitution Hill at the north end to the harbour in the south, with a pier along the way and the castle splitting the beach in two, and all of it faces Cardigan Bay on the west coast of Wales.

Aberystwyth means the mouth of the Ystwyth, and the town sits close to where that river and the Rheidol meet. It is the largest town in Ceredigion, with 14,640 people at the 2021 census, and it divides into five areas: Aberystwyth Town, Llanbadarn Fawr, Waunfawr, Trefechan and Penparcau. A university has been part of the picture since 1872, and in 2025 the town was named a UNESCO City of Literature, the first place in Wales to be given the title.

A daylight walk along the Promenade is about as easy a first meeting as you will find: public, simple to find and with the pier and the castle to look at on the way. Say which part of town you mean when you arrange it, because with five areas, "town" can mean more than one place.

Beyond the Promenade: Borth, Llanrhystud and Tywyn

Borth sits seven miles north, Llanrhystud nine miles south, and Tywyn, in Gwynedd, is about 12 miles off. Dolgellau is 24 miles away and Rhayader 25, and Aberaeron, the county's other administrative centre, is 16, so for most meetings Aberystwyth sits in the middle of the map.

Meeting someone from one of those places usually means a drive, so settle the town and the time in your messages. The features page explains how daily matches and swiping work, which helps when your matches live a bay apart.
