Weymouth Hookups: Weymouth Women Want to Meet

Beach days, harbour walks and no-strings fun on Weymouth Bay.

Weymouth hookups, halfway along the Jurassic Coast

When the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing needed a home, it went to Portland Harbour, right next door to Weymouth. That tells you what the town is about: a sheltered bay at the mouth of the River Wey, roughly halfway along the Jurassic Coast, with Chesil Beach and the Isle of Portland standing between it and the open sea. In 2019 the Weymouth and Portland area welcomed more than two million day trips and nearly 470,000 longer stays.

With about 53,400 people it's Dorset's third-largest town after Bournemouth and Poole, and tourism employs around one worker in six. For a hookup, the calendar matters. In the tourist season the beach fills with swimmers and sunbathers and the seafront hotels with visitors, so there are new faces about; outside it you're mostly meeting people who live here, in a working harbour town with a fishing fleet, two shopping centres and trains to London every half hour.

The Weymouth crowd: mostly 25 to 44

More than half of our members within 60 miles of Weymouth are aged 25 to 44, split evenly between the two decades.

The 18 to 24s are only about one in seven here, well below the site's average, and a little over a quarter are 45 or older. Women make up about three in ten. Sixty miles from Weymouth reaches Bournemouth, Ringwood, Southampton and Eastleigh to the east and Bristol and Weston-super-Mare to the north, so a weekend meet-up can come from a fair distance.

Harbour walks and beach days in Weymouth

Round the harbour

Weymouth Harbour holds the fishing fleet, pleasure boats and private yachts, and the Pavilion Theatre sits on reclaimed land between the harbour and the esplanade, with end-of-the-pier shows in season and events all year round. For a quieter first meeting, Radipole Lake, an RSPB reserve, is right in the town centre, and Lodmoor lies between the centre and Preston.

On event days

The town hosts more than two hundred events a year, from firework festivals and dragon boat racing to beach volleyball and beach motocross, with the carnival in mid-August. It's also the only port in the world to have started The Tall Ships' Races three times, and the 1994 start drew 300,000 spectators. A busy seafront is an easy, public place to say hello, and a good excuse to stay out once it's going well.

Dorchester to Poole, for a change of scene

Portland, the limestone island that shelters the bay, lies just offshore beyond Wyke Regis, and Dorchester, the county town, is seven miles north. Bridport and Wareham are about 15 and 16 miles away, Beaminster 18, Blandford Forum 21, and Poole and Swanage about 22. The railway runs both ways out of Weymouth, to London Waterloo and north through Westbury to Bristol and Gloucester, so a match from further afield can come to you.

Your Weymouth hookup questions

Is Weymouth only worth it in the summer?

The beach crowd is a summer thing, but the town's two hundred-plus events are spread across the year and the Pavilion puts on shows outside the season too. Winters are mild, with snow lying on only a handful of days, if any.

How do I find hookups near me in Weymouth?

Put Weymouth down as your nearest town and decide how far you'll travel: Dorchester is only seven miles off and Poole about 22. Our page on hookups near me explains how distance works on the site.

Is this a dating site or a hookup site?

A hookup site: it's for adults who want sex with no commitments. If Weymouth dating has meant dinners that go nowhere, this is the shortcut, because daily match suggestions take into account what each person says they're looking for.
