Tamworth Hookups: Tamworth Women Want to Meet

Hookups and no-strings dating for adults in Mercia's old royal town.

Tamworth dating, the no-strings kind

Tamworth once ran a kingdom. In the eighth and ninth centuries it was the main seat of royal power in Anglo-Saxon Mercia, and the evidence is still standing: a 12th-century castle on raised ground, the medieval Church of St Editha and the Moat House. The town takes its name from the River Tame, which runs through it, and for centuries it straddled the Warwickshire and Staffordshire border until 1889 settled it in Staffordshire.

Modern Tamworth is a working town of about 82,000, fourteen miles north-east of Birmingham, turning out bricks, tiles and paper alongside logistics and engineering. The Reliant factory, home of the three-wheeled Robin, was here until 2001, and the Snowdome still puts real snow on an indoor slope.

For no-strings dating, a town this size with Fazeley a mile and a half off and Lichfield six miles away lets you keep your search local without it feeling cramped.

Meet by the castle, or go a town over

Tamworth's landmarks make good meeting points because nobody can miss them: the castle, St Editha's, the Moat House. South of the town the Coventry Canal and the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal join, with marinas along them, which gives you somewhere to wander once the ice is broken.

If you'd rather meet away from Tamworth, Lichfield is about six miles off and Atherstone a little over seven, while Fazeley is the quick option at a mile and a half. Keep it public, keep your own transport, and block anyone who gets pushy. The features page explains how matching and messaging work.
