Atherstone Hookups: Atherstone Women Want to Meet

Adults in Atherstone who want no-strings fun, with Nuneaton, Tamworth and Hinckley a short hop away.

Casual sex in Atherstone, home of an 800-year-old street game

Every Shrove Tuesday, Atherstone plays a ball game in its streets, and it has done so every year since 1199. The rest of the year it is a market town in the far north of Warwickshire, home to about 11,000 people if you count the neighbouring village of Mancetter, and the seat of North Warwickshire's borough council. The A5 runs through it, and the River Anker, which marks the Leicestershire border, flows right alongside.

That position shapes how hooking up works here. Atherstone is a small town between two bigger ones, Tamworth and Nuneaton, and one step over the Anker you are in Leicestershire, so "local" is a flexible word. A match can live in a different town and a different county and still be close.

Two in three under 35, and from right across the Midlands

The 25 to 34s lead near Atherstone, at just over a third of our members within 25 miles, and the 18 to 24s add nearly three in ten, so about two in three are under 35. Another three in ten or so are 35 to 54, and past 55 the numbers drop away to fewer than one in ten. Just under three in ten are women.

Members there give their homes as far apart as Wolverhampton and Derby, with Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and Leicester on the list too, so a match may be a city away rather than a street.

Three counties within eight miles

Nuneaton is five miles from Atherstone and still in Warwickshire. Tamworth, a little over seven miles off, is in Staffordshire, and Hinckley, about seven and a half, is in Leicestershire. Any of the three makes a sensible halfway point, and crossing a county line makes it feel like an outing.

Leave Shrove Tuesday out of the plan: the Ball Game is played in the streets, and that is a day for watching, not for a quiet first drink. Any other day, keep the meeting public and short, make your own way home, and block anyone who won't take no for an answer. The safety page explains how blocking and reporting work.
