Shepton Mallet Hookups: Shepton Mallet Women Want to Meet

Hookups in the festival's nearest town

Cider, an old prison and the nearest town to the Glastonbury Festival: Shepton Mallet packs a lot into a built-up area of under 10,000 people. The prison shut in 2013, and right up to the end it was the oldest in England still in use. Wool paid the bills in the Middle Ages and brewing took over in the 18th century, but these days the town is known for its cider.

The Mendip Hills rise to the north, the River Sheppey runs through town, and so does the line of the Fosse Way, the Roman road between the north-east and the south-west of England. Then there's the festival itself, with the Royal Bath and West of England Society's showground close by as well. When either is busy, there are new faces about and a ready-made excuse to say hello.

Five miles to Wells, fifteen to Bath

Shepton is small enough that a first drink a few miles away can feel more relaxed. Pick by how far you're happy to go:

Wells, under five miles west

Wells is close enough for a quick drink after work and far enough that you're off your own patch.

Frome, about ten miles

Frome is the next step out, and handy when your match lives east of Shepton rather than west.

Bath, about fifteen miles

Bath has members of its own in Shepton's circle, and it's the choice when you'd both like a city around you for the evening.
