Spa-town hookups in Royal Tunbridge Wells
Tunbridge Wells was pulling in visitors long before anyone came looking for a hookup: it was already a spa in the Restoration.
By the middle of the 1700s it had become a fashionable resort, and people came to the Pantiles to take the waters from its chalybeate spring. Sea bathing eventually lured the spa crowd away, but tourism still brings in much of the town's income. The "Royal" was granted in 1909, and only three other towns in England share the title, though plenty of people still call it plain Tunbridge Wells.
Today it's a town of about 60,000, 30 miles south-east of central London, on the northern edge of the High Weald and close to the East Sussex border. This page is for anyone who searched for Tunbridge Wells dating and would rather skip straight to the part where you meet.

Meet at the Pantiles, or a few miles up the road
The Pantiles is the town's own landmark and the obvious place to say "meet me there": it's where the spa visitors came to take the waters, and it's easy to find. If you'd rather start with fresh air, High Rocks shows off the sandstone the High Weald is made of.
For somewhere out of town, Tonbridge is just over four miles away and Paddock Wood about six, with Edenbridge at nine and a half. Sevenoaks and East Grinstead are both within about twelve, and Maidstone a little over fourteen.
