This is London's main shopping and entertainment district, home to West End theatre and to a lot of visitors. A show gives a first meeting a start time, an interval to compare notes and a graceful way to end the evening or carry it on. East of the City
Canary Wharf has grown into a new financial hub in the Docklands, and East London Tech City, the area known as Silicon Roundabout, is full of technology firms. If either of you works out that way, a drink straight after work is the obvious opener. South-west along the river, Battersea Power Station is a landmark nobody can miss.
