Adults only
Galashiels Hookups: Galashiels Women Want to Meet
Casual hookups for adults in Gala and across the Borders, with Earlston, Hawick and Kelso a drive away.
New faces are normal in Gala
As the major commercial centre for the whole of the Scottish Borders, Galashiels, known as Gala, draws far more people than the 10,000 who live there, so new faces turn up as a matter of course. For a hookup in a region where the towns sit far apart, that makes it an easy suggestion to someone who lives a drive away: plenty of people already head for Gala anyway.
Textiles are the town's long history, and Heriot-Watt University's School of Textiles and Design is based here too, so the old trade has a classroom as well as a past.
More 45 to 54s near Galashiels than across the site
Within 60 miles of Galashiels, nearly one in five of our members is aged 45 to 54, against about one in seven across the site, and women make up over four in ten, well above the three in ten for all our members. Late twenties and early thirties still lead, at a little over a third, with 35 to 44 next on just over a quarter, while roughly one in nine is under 25 and fewer than one in ten is 55 or over. The circle takes in Edinburgh and Corstorphine, Glasgow, Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Dundee and Ladybank, so do not assume your match lives down the road.

Split the drive: Earlston, Hawick, Kelso and beyond
Inside the Borders
Earlston is barely five and a half miles away, so a match from there hardly counts as travelling. Hawick is 13 miles off, Kelso nearly 15 and Peebles 15.
Over the edge
Dalkeith in Midlothian is about 22 miles off and Tranent in East Lothian a little over 23, which is the sort of distance where you meet in the middle rather than ask one person to do all of it.
In a region this spread out, ask early where your match is setting off from and when they need to be home. For a first meeting, choose a public spot, let a friend know where you will be and settle how each of you is getting back. Our safety page covers what to do if a chat turns sour.
