Ealing Hookups: Ealing Women Want to Meet

Grown-up, no-strings fun in Ealing, with Acton, Brentford and a string of Tube stations close by.

Casual sex in Ealing, the Queen of the Suburbs

Ealing was a Middlesex village until London's growth swallowed it, and the railway station that opened in 1838 started the change. Market gardens fed the capital first, then houses replaced them, and by 1902 the nickname was Queen of the Suburbs, a leafy halfway point between city and country. Today it's the administrative centre of its borough, 7.5 miles west of Charing Cross, and a major metropolitan centre in the London Plan, though Pitshanger still feels like a suburban village and Ealing Common, Walpole, Lammas and Pitshanger parks keep plenty of green.

Evenings out happen along The Mall, The Broadway and New Broadway, where numerous pubs and restaurants make up Ealing's night-time economy. All three are stretches of the old Uxbridge Road, which once ran on coaching inns where horses were changed and travellers refreshed. Highwaymen were fond of the road too, so strangers have been meeting along it for a long time.

Halfway is a Tube stop away

Ealing Broadway is the easy place to name. It's in London fare zone 3, with the Central and District lines and main-line trains on the Great Western, and Ealing has a string of other Tube stations, from Northfields to Hanger Lane. Acton is a little over a mile off, Brentford under two and Hammersmith 3.4 miles.
