Suffolk's matches skew young, with a twist

Youth wins out in and around Suffolk: a third of our members are aged 18 to 24 and another three in ten fall between 25 and 34, so nearly two-thirds are under 35. Then comes the twist. People aged 45 to 54 are scarce, around one in twenty, yet about one in seven is 55 or older, a bigger slice than across the site. Women make up more than a third. Ipswich first. It's the largest town and the central hub of the University of Suffolk, which had 13,590 students in 2024/25, nearly nine in ten of them over 21.
Try Bury St Edmunds in the west, which has another University of Suffolk site and makes a good second option for a drink.
Walk the coast. Heath and marsh run behind much of it, from the RSPB reserve at Minsmere to Trimley Marshes, and Orford Ness shuts the Alde and Ore off from the sea.
Go where the crowds are: Latitude, the Aldeburgh Festival, the Suffolk Show and a day at the races give you a busy, public place to meet.
