Shifnal Hookups: Shifnal Women Want to Meet
Local hookups for adults in Shifnal, with Wolverhampton nearer than Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth a short drive off.
A small town with a knack for surprises
A book of old ballads published in 1765 was based mainly on a folio found on the floor of a house in Shifnal, where the maid had been using its pages to light the fires. It was rescued, and that is the sort of town this is: a Shropshire market town of around 6,500 people, four miles east of Telford, that has a habit of turning up something worth keeping.
The town sits close to the M54 and to Watling Street, now the A5, and it has more going on than its size suggests. Idsall Sports Centre and clubs for everything from table tennis to cricket keep people busy, and Lodge Hill, to the south, is where seven winds are said to meet and where the golf club laid out its first nine holes in 1913. In a town this size your own street won't hold the whole pool, which is why a hookup here looks outwards.
Young company, with women in the minority
Out to 25 miles around Shifnal the numbers lean young: three members in four are under 35, with almost four in ten under 25 and more than a third in their late twenties or early thirties. The 35 to 44 band is tiny, about one in twenty, and the 45s and over make up a fifth between them. Women are fewer than one in five, against three in ten across the site, so give your profile something to say. Members come from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Stourbridge, Oldbury, Lichfield, Hednesford and Bridgnorth.

Halfway by train or by car
Shifnal station is on the Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury line, with services on to Telford and Birmingham New Street. Bridgnorth, Wolverhampton and Stafford are 9.5, 12.0 and 14.2 miles away, and any of them can serve as neutral ground. Wolverhampton is nearer than Shrewsbury, and most of the member towns above lie that way too.
Suggest a town in the middle and let them say yes or counter-offer. Meeting somewhere that belongs to neither of you keeps the rest of the evening open, and a public spot for the first hour keeps it relaxed.
