Penrith Hookups: Penrith Women Want to Meet

From Roman forts to the Lakes' edge: Penrith hookups

Penrith has spent its whole history on the way to somewhere else.

The Romans put two forts nearby, at Brocavum and at Voreda (Plumpton), and the town's position on routes north to south and east to west kept it important when relations with Scotland turned fraught. Early on it was a Crown possession, though often handed to favoured noble families. The living came from the land: cattle rearing and droving, with the Inglewood Forest and the fertile Eden valley on the doorstep.

Today it's a market town of about 17,000 people between the Rivers Petteril and Eamont, historically part of Cumberland and now in the Westmorland and Furness area of Cumbria. It sits less than three miles outside the Lake District National Park and about 17 miles south of Carlisle, so for a hookup you're within a short drive of both the Lakes and a city, and a match can reach you from either.

Within 21 miles: Keswick, Carlisle and Windermere

That old crossroads position still makes Penrith a fair halfway point. Keswick is about sixteen miles away, Carlisle seventeen and Windermere twenty-one, and across the Northumberland line Haltwhistle is twenty-four. Wigton, Kendal and Cockermouth are each nineteen to twenty-four miles off, if your match is based in one of them.

Pick the town that suits whoever has the longer trip, and let them choose the time. If your match lives even further out, the locations page lists every other town we cover.
