Hookups in Bollington, under the eye of White Nancy

Look up from Bollington and White Nancy is looking back. The structure on Kerridge Hill was built to mark the victory at the Battle of Waterloo, and it keeps watch over a small town of around 7,200 people on the River Dean and the Macclesfield Canal, right on the south-western edge of the Peak District.

It's a small town and it knows it. With the canal below and the hill above, a first meeting in daylight is easy to arrange, and the evening can wait until you know whether you want one. In the Middle Ages the place belonged to the manor of Macclesfield and the parish of Prestbury, which lies to its west.

Every age group is out there near Bollington

Pick any age group and the circle round Bollington has it. Within 25 miles the two youngest bands are neck and neck, roughly a quarter of our members apiece, the 35 to 44s come in at a fifth, and the groups above taper gently, with 45 to 54 at roughly one in six and 55 or over at one in eight. Three in ten of the circle are women, which is also the site-wide figure.

A town of around 7,000 can't supply all the variety you'd like, so the circle does the work. Their home towns range from Bolton and Rochdale to Crewe and Northwich, with Manchester, Middleton, Little Hulton and Guide Bridge in the mix, and your daily matches take distance into account.
