About 23,500 people live here on the North Sea coast, which makes this former royal burgh the largest town in Angus.

Carnoustie is six miles along the same stretch of coast, and Montrose and Brechin are each a little under twelve. Forfar is nearly 13, Tayport nearly 14 and Dundee 16, with St. Andrews at about 17 and a half and Leven close to 30, so most meetings will mean a bit of driving for one of you. Aberdeen is 45 miles away, a long trip for anyone coming from there.
