Stockton-on-Tees Hookups: Stockton-on-Tees Women Want to Meet

No-strings fun for adults in Stockton, Norton and the towns along the Tees.

Hookups in Stockton, the market town on the Tees

Stockton's High Street is the widest in the UK, and every Wednesday and Saturday the town hall in the middle of it is surrounded by the largest outdoor market in North East England, a tradition going back to the 1300s.

The rest of the town's story is engineering. The Stockton and Darlington Railway put the world's first steam-hauled passenger train on the rails here in 1825, the town is famous as the home of the friction match, and shipbuilding, steel and chemicals kept it working for generations. About 85,000 people live here now, on the north bank of the Tees, and the town spreads well beyond its Georgian centre. Norton is a second centre in its own right, and the other neighbourhoods include:

  • Hartburn
  • Fairfield
  • Hardwick
  • Roseworth
  • Portrack
  • Elm Tree Farm
  • Bishopsgarth
  • Oxbridge
  • Newtown

Wherever you live, your profile names your nearest town and never your street, which matters when sex in Stockton could mean someone a few roads away.

Stockton weekends worth planning around

Easter Sunday: Stockton Calling
Music across several of the town's venues, every year since 2010.
Stockton International Riverside Festival
Going since 1988, it takes over the town for four or five days once a year with circus, comedy, music, dance and street theatre, and has pulled in more than a quarter of a million visitors.
The Sunday nearest Bonfire Night
Fireworks by the river, watched by crowds of up to 100,000 from around the region.
Christmas: Stockton Sparkles
A festival and markets that close the town's year.

In an ordinary week, the ARC on Dovecot Street has a theatre, a cinema and a music space under one roof, and the Georgian Theatre in Green Dragon Yard, the oldest of its kind in the country, makes a memorable second date. Keep the first meeting public and short.

Asked in Stockton

Which weekends bring the crowds to Stockton?

The Riverside Festival, which has drawn over 250,000 visitors across its long weekend, and the fireworks on the Sunday nearest 5 November, with up to 100,000. A packed town is a good excuse to meet, but agree an exact spot first so you don't spend the evening hunting for each other.

Do I need to look beyond Stockton?

Not far. Middlesbrough is about three and a half miles away and Hartlepool around nine, and both are places our members within 25 miles of Stockton come from. A wider distance setting just means more people to choose from.

Where's handy for a first drink in Stockton?

The High Street and the streets off it, such as Dovecot Street, keep you central and among people. If you want a plan with a natural ending, catch a film at the ARC.
