Polls named Harrogate the happiest place to live in Britain three years running, from 2013 to 2015. It is also reckoned the most expensive place to live in the North of England, with plenty of homes in and around the town worth a million pounds or more. The money is old: visitors came to take its iron and sulphur waters in the 17th and 18th centuries, and by Georgian times the town was known as the English Spa.

Sex in Harrogate can start very politely. Hookups a short hop from Harrogate

Knaresborough is about three miles away, Wetherby seven and a half and Otley under nine, all well inside the 25-mile circle our figures cover. Ripon is ten miles north on the A61, and the same road heads south to Leeds, about 13 miles off. The A59 links the town with York one way and Skipton the other, the A661 runs out to Wetherby and the A1(M), and the Harrogate Line has trains towards Leeds, which gives you plenty of ways to meet halfway. The railway station and the bus station are both in the town centre, so meeting someone off a train or a bus is easy.
