Four towns in two counties, all inside six miles

Ripley is four and a half miles from Alfreton and Clay Cross just under five, both in Derbyshire. Cross the county line into Nottinghamshire and Kirkby-in-Ashfield is under six miles away, with Mansfield about eight. Heanor and Loscoe are under six too, and Belper and Matlock under eight, so a halfway point is easy to find.
